Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem

One of the best medical centers in the world, Hadassah Medical Center is located in Jerusalem. As the sixth largest hospital complex in Israel, Hadassah is made up of two hospitals: Hadassah Har-Ha’Tsofim and Hadassah Ein-Kerem. Hadassah treats patients throughout Israel and the rest of the world. Hadassah also serves satellite communities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv via special healthcare programs and outpatient clinics. It also provides medical treatment to Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip.


Hadassah operates in close cooperation with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem which has proven beneficial to both students and patients. It runs ten different research institutes focusing on medical areas such as gene therapy, bone marrow transplantation, and diabetes. This research has earned them an international reputation as one of the leading medical centers in the world.

Hadassah’s two hospitals contain more than 70 departments, 120 private clinics and health centers, and 1,000 hospital beds. Their medical staff of 5,000 employees includes 850 internationally-recognized doctors who together treat more than one million patients locally and abroad.

Achievements

In 2005, Hadassah was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for treating patients equally regardless of their ethnic or religious background.
